What’s been happening:

After graduation (with degrees in journalism and anthropology), I moved to Boston. I loved Boston, but after nine months I got a job offer I couldn't refuse, so I moved to New York City. There, I worked on the staff of The Playboy Guides (as a staff writer and researcher), United Media (as an associate editor working on TV Update), Success! (as the lifestyles editor), and finally McCall's (as the features and travel editor). Then I went freelance full-time--my ultimate goal--and developed a passion for travel and travel writing. After eight years in New York, I gave up urban chic for southern charm. I moved to Knoxville, TN, where I've lived ever since, in the shadow of the incredibly beautiful Great Smoky Mountains. I have a teenage daughter (Sam), a fabulous significant other (Colby), and a marvelous mutt named Zephyr. I'm still a freelance writer, but in addition to writing articles for websites and magazines (including Health and Reader's Digest), I now also write and edit books. I specialize in women's health and fitness (including mind/body and complementary medicine), spirituality and consciousness, travel, and lifestyle topics.
